A little more context
Two routes. One that feels right.
Some days you want the most direct way. Other days, you’d like to see the route with more mapped lighting along the way.
About “Safest” It’s an estimate based on available lighting data—not a promise of safety. Data can be incomplete or out of date, and conditions change from block to block.

Simple by design
Your walk, with a little company.
No account to set up. No need to share more than the trip you’re taking.
01 / PLAN
Pick a destination.
Enter where you’re going and compare walking routes by estimated time and available lighting data.
02 / CHOOSE
Take the one you prefer.
Use the route comparison to make your own call. Tagalong helps you plan; it isn’t turn-by-turn navigation.
03 / TAG ALONG
Invite someone to follow.
Share a private trip link with a trusted person. They can see the active trip in their phone browser.
The right amount of sharing
A trip link, not an open door.
Sharing is optional and limited to an active trip. There’s no public profile and no ongoing location feed after the trip ends.
01
Only share with someone you trust
Anyone holding the private link can view the shared trip. Keep it between you and the person you choose.
02
It’s tied to one active trip
The link is for following a trip in progress, not for finding you later or tracking you between walks.
03
It expires on its own
Trip links expire six hours after starting, or four hours after arrival or ending the trip.
Made to be straightforward
Your walk is yours.
Tagalong keeps the experience light on ceremony and clear about what happens when you choose to share.
No account needed for the basics.
Plan a walk and use trip-link sharing without creating an account. Optional saved contacts use verified details; contact names stay on your device.
Sharing has an end.
Location is shared only for the active trip. After arrival or when the trip is ended, updates stop and the link expires.
Good to know
A few things worth knowing.
Clear answers before you head out.
Is “Safest” a guarantee?
No. “Safest” is an estimate based on available lighting data. That data can be incomplete or out of date, and it cannot tell you what conditions are like right now. Use your judgment and choose the route that feels right to you.
Does Tagalong guide me turn by turn?
No. Tagalong helps you plan and compare walking routes; it is not turn-by-turn navigation. Check your route before you set off and use your own judgment along the way.
Who can see a shared trip?
Anyone holding the private trip link can view that shared trip. Send it only to someone you trust. Sharing is limited to an active trip and the link expires automatically.
Will Tagalong call for help if something happens?
No. Tagalong does not contact emergency services, and it is not an emergency service. If you need emergency help, call 911.
Do I need to make an account?
No account is needed to plan a walk or share an active trip link. Optional saved contacts are a separate feature.
